The story behind Leon Surplus Deals

Leon Surplus Deals started as the answer to a problem nobody wanted: what to do with the perfectly good stuff that piles up around active real-estate operations. Rob Kasper and his brothers run a $50M+ portfolio of rental properties and renovations across Tallahassee. Every month brought another kitchen remodel, another apartment turnover, another estate cleanout — and every job ended the same way: a pallet of cabinets nobody asked for, a working fridge headed for the curb, a sectional sofa in the warehouse because the new tenant didn't want it.

Trashing it was wrong (and expensive — Leon County dump fees aren't trivial). Giving it away meant someone had to coordinate the donations. Selling it meant building a whole operation around resale.

So we built the operation. The warehouse on Jackson Bluff Road runs a steady inventory of used appliances, furniture, building materials, and equipment from local renovations and estates — all priced for local pickup, no shipping markup, no inflated "originally $X" stickers. We take real photos, write honest descriptions, and price below the market because that's what keeps inventory moving.

The free junk-pickup service grew naturally out of the resale side. People kept calling asking if we'd come grab their old fridge or couch — and the answer was usually yes, because every working appliance or usable couch becomes resale inventory. The trade is simple: you skip the dump fee and the hassle, we get the inventory, and the planet wins a little because almost nothing actually goes to the landfill.
