Why bother with mattress disposal?
Leaving an old mattress at the curb is technically a code violation in Tallahassee, the dump charges per-mattress disposal fees, and most thrift stores refuse them outright. That's the recipe for a mattress sitting in the garage for six months. We solve it: call us, we come get it, the mattress gets recycled (steel goes to scrap, fiber/foam goes to recycling processors), and you don't pay or load anything.
Bedbugs, stains, and other awkward situations
We'll still take it โ we just need to know up front so we can bag it before it goes in the truck. We've seen everything. Don't be embarrassed; just mention it on the phone and we'll plan accordingly.
Mattress Disposal FAQ
Still wondering about something? Call (850) 270-3164 โ we'll talk you through it.
- Can you take a mattress that has stains or bedbugs?
- Yes. Tell us when you call so we bring proper bags and gloves. Stained, torn, urine-soaked, bedbug-affected โ all fine. We bag it on-site before it touches our truck.
- Do you take just the mattress or the whole bed?
- Both. If you want the bed frame and headboard gone too, just say so when you book โ we'll take the whole set in one trip.
- Why do you take mattresses for free when other places charge?
- Because mattresses aren't our resale product โ they're a recycling commodity. Steel inner-springs go to scrap dealers, fiber and foam go to recycling processors. We make our money on the furniture and appliances we resell; the mattress is along for the ride.
- Multiple mattresses from one address?
- Standard for us. FSU and FAMU apartment complexes often have 4โ8 mattresses to clear at the end of a lease. Same flat $0 price; we just send a bigger truck.
