  • Mini fridges & dorm fridges

Common after FSU/FAMU move-out. We'll grab as many as you have.

  • Chest & upright freezers

Garage and basement freezers โ€” we plan the path before we lift.

  • Wine fridges & beverage centers

    Built-in or freestanding.

  • Commercial refrigeration

True, Beverage-Air, glass-door coolers from closed restaurants โ€” call to confirm.

Why refrigerator disposal is regulated

Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant gas (older units use R-12 or R-22, newer ones use R-134a) that's a potent greenhouse gas and ozone-depleting compound. Federal law (40 CFR Part 82) requires that refrigerant be recovered by an EPA-certified technician before the appliance is destroyed or compacted. Curbside pickup with the city doesn't include this โ€” they take the unit but you're still responsible for venting compliance. We handle the full path.

Working fridges go back into circulation

If your fridge runs, it goes on our resale floor โ€” usually priced at $150โ€“$400 depending on size and age. Lots of FSU students and first-apartment renters need a working fridge but can't afford a new one; your old GE Profile finds a new kitchen instead of a landfill.

Refrigerator Pickup FAQ

Still wondering about something? Call (850) 270-3164 โ€” we'll talk you through it.

What if the freon line has already been cut?
We can't legally take a unit where the refrigerant has been vented to atmosphere (the cutting itself is a federal violation). If you suspect a previous tenant or contractor did this, call us and describe what you see โ€” sometimes the line is just disconnected at a fitting (recoverable) rather than physically cut.
Can you take fridges with food still in them?
Yes but please empty them. Spoiled food turns into a slow leak in our truck and we'd rather avoid it. If you literally can't deal with the contents (estate cleanout, eviction situation), call us anyway and we'll figure it out.
Will you disconnect the ice maker water line?
Yes โ€” we carry a wrench and a bucket. Just have the shutoff valve accessible (usually under the sink or behind the fridge).
What about the water filter inside?
We pull and properly dispose of any cartridge filters. If yours has a newer cartridge you want to keep, just take it out before we arrive.
