Why TVs are different from regular trash

CRT tube TVs contain lead in the glass funnel โ€” federal regulation classifies them as hazardous waste in many jurisdictions, and Leon County's curbside service doesn't accept them. Flat-screens contain mercury in the backlight tubes (older LCD) or rare-earth elements that make landfill disposal wasteful. Either way, the right answer is e-waste recycling, not the trash bin. We send working units to resale and broken units to a certified e-waste processor.

Hard drives and data security

For any device with a hard drive (computer, server, MFP printer with internal storage), we offer three paths: (1) we return the drive to you on-site so you can keep it, (2) we perform a DoD-spec wipe before the device leaves your premises, or (3) we send it to an R2-certified processor with a chain-of-custody log. Tell us which when you book.

TV & Electronics Disposal FAQ

Still wondering about something? Call (850) 270-3164 โ€” we'll talk you through it.

Do you take CRT TVs?
Yes โ€” that's the most-asked-about category. CRT tube TVs, including the giant 30+ inch sets and old computer monitors. Heavier than they look, so know that we send two crew to handle them.
What about cracked or broken flat-screens?
Yes. The glass is contained inside the bezel; we'll bag it for transport so no shards end up in your house.
What happens to my hard drive?
Your choice: keep it, watch us wipe it on-site, or have it processed by an R2-certified recycler with a chain-of-custody log. Default is wipe.
Will you take just one TV or do I need to bundle?
One is fine. Free pickup, free disposal, single visit.
